Terms of Use & Recording Limits
DashReplay is developed and operated by Oscar Duarte. This page sets out safe-use conditions, recording limits and purchase features. For help, email support@dashreplay.com. You can also use support@kindobject.com.
Set up while parked
Mount and configure your phone while parked. Keep your view, controls and airbags clear. Do not adjust the app, review video or export footage while driving. Follow applicable traffic, mounting, privacy and recording laws.
Ask before recording cabin audio
Cabin audio is optional and off by default. Ask passengers before recording and get any consent required by local law. Giving DashReplay microphone permission on your phone does not establish other people's consent to being recorded.
Recording can fail, including during a crash
DashReplay records while open in the foreground with the phone unlocked. Switching apps, locking the phone or interruptions can stop capture. Returning after an interruption may start a new recording. No video is captured during the gap.
App errors, iOS behavior, other camera or microphone use, heat, storage limits, power loss and phone damage can leave missing, incomplete or unusable footage, including during a collision. DashReplay does not promise uninterrupted recording or complete footage of every trip or event.
When safely parked, check that important footage plays and export a copy you can open. An on-screen recording state does not guarantee a complete, playable file or its future availability.
Protection is different from saved footage
Save Incident marks a moment and protects its recording from automatic cleanup. It cannot create footage that was not captured or repair missing video. Protection still uses storage; recordings can be manually deleted, damaged or lost.
A drive resumed after an interruption can contain separate recordings. Check which recordings are protected. Cleanup settings can remove eligible unprotected footage. Export important footage before deleting it or removing the app.
Backup copies footage that was saved
Optional iCloud Drive backup starts off and copies eligible completed footage after you enable it. It cannot recover footage that was never saved. Copies use your iCloud storage and may use cellular data. Preparation or upload can be delayed or fail, and local cleanup may remove a source before it is copied.
“Copied” confirms a file in the DashReplay folder. “Uploaded” means iCloud reported upload completion. Check that the copy opens in Files. Turning backup off or deleting local footage does not delete existing cloud copies. Importing those copies back into the DashReplay Library is not supported.
Free features and one-time Pro
Recording, Save Incident, playback and export are free. Optional Pro is a one-time purchase that removes the ordinary-recording protection count limit. It does not add storage, guarantee capture or provide insurance. The price shown by Apple at purchase applies.
During TestFlight testing, in-app purchases use Apple's sandbox and are not charged. For purchase or restore problems, contact support. For an App Store refund request, follow Apple's refund process; eligibility depends on Apple and applicable law.
No emergency response or accident benefit
Possible-incident protection can miss events or mark a non-event. DashReplay is not a crash detector or emergency service and does not contact responders. It does not guarantee that footage will establish fault or be accepted by an insurer or court. The current offer includes no accident coverage, deductible reimbursement or payment for missing footage.
Privacy and support
The Privacy page explains on-device data, Apple and Maps services, optional iCloud copies, chosen sharing destinations, TestFlight diagnostics and support email. Review recordings and attachments before sharing them; visible scenes and voices can reveal private information.
The Support page explains setup, storage, backup and reporting problems. Contact privacy@dashreplay.com for privacy questions. You can also use privacy@kindobject.com.
License, warranty and liability
App Store downloads are licensed under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Beta use through TestFlight is subject to Apple's TestFlight terms.
Those licenses contain warranty disclaimers and liability limits, subject to applicable law. By choosing I Agree in DashReplay, you agree to these use conditions and acknowledge the recording limits. These conditions supplement, and do not replace, the applicable app license. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful injury, gross negligence or violations of law, or any rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit.
