DashReplay support
Setup, recording limits, storage and help for DashReplay.
Email support@dashreplay.com. DashReplay is developed and operated by Oscar Duarte. Include your iPhone model, iOS version, app version, what you tried and what happened. If you use the beta, you can also use TestFlight’s feedback feature.

Start here
- Use an iPhone running iOS 27 or later. Beta testers install through their TestFlight invitation.
- While parked, complete setup and allow Camera. Tap Record for a short test, then hold Stop. With VoiceOver, activate Stop.
- Open Library, find the drive and check that its video plays. Try Save Incident during another short recording, then review the protected recording.
- Export a disposable test clip through the share sheet to a destination you choose. Review what you are sharing first.
What to expect
Recording can fail, including during a crash. App errors, heat, storage limits, power loss or phone damage can leave missing or unusable footage. When parked, check playback and export important footage.
Recording works only while the app is in the foreground. Leaving the app or locking the phone requests a stop. Calls, Siri, heat, low storage and other interruptions can affect recording. Check the recording state and saved footage after an interruption.
Opening Notification Center fully can send DashReplay to the background and make the camera unavailable, leaving a gap in footage. On return to the foreground, an interrupted recording can restart as a new drive after cleanup. Explicit Stop cancels that restart.
Cabin audio, Dual camera (Beta), possible-incident protection and automatic recording options are optional. Possible-incident protection can miss events or mark a non-event; it is not an emergency service. Configure the app while parked and do not interact with it while driving.
Cabin audio and passenger consent
Cabin audio is optional and off by default. Ask passengers before recording and get any consent required by local law. Giving DashReplay microphone permission on your phone does not establish other people’s consent to being recorded.
Keep important footage
Save Incident marks a moment and protects its recording from automatic cleanup. It cannot guarantee capture or recover missing video.
Cleanup settings may remove eligible unprotected footage. Protect or export clips you want to keep. Optional iCloud Drive backup is described below. Removing the app can remove its local data, including anything not yet copied.
iCloud Drive backup
Backup cannot recover footage that was never saved.
During onboarding, choose optional backup setup, or open iCloud Drive backup later in Settings. Review what will be copied, then tap Turn on backup. Opening setup does not enable backup; Not now completes onboarding with backup off. Turn on backup creates the DashReplay folder in iCloud Drive; no folder picker is needed. Backup starts off and initially copies only protected recordings started after you enable it. All completed recordings and including existing recordings are separate, explicit choices. Copies contain video and recorded audio, without GPS, saved routes, destinations, the Library catalog or diagnostic logs.
Keep DashReplay open after your drive. Copy preparation pauses for recording, heat or low storage. Clips over 512 MB need manual sharing. Copies use your iCloud storage and may use cellular data. “Copied” means the file reached the DashReplay folder; “Uploaded” means iCloud confirmed upload. Check the copy in Files before relying on it.
Turning backup off or deleting local footage leaves existing iCloud copies in place. Delete them separately in Files. Local cleanup can remove a recording before its copy is ready. Restoring a copy into the DashReplay Library is not available. If your iCloud account or backup folder changes, review the settings and tap Turn on backup again.
Free recording and one-time Pro
Recording, Save Incident, playback and export remain free. Pro removes the limit on protecting ordinary recordings. A drive resumed after an interruption can contain separate recordings; check which recordings are protected. TestFlight purchases use Apple’s sandbox. Report purchase or restore problems to support.
Pro is an optional one-time purchase, not a subscription. It removes the ordinary-recording protection count limit; it does not add storage or guarantee recording. The price shown by Apple at purchase applies. Read the Terms of Use & Recording Limits for license and purchase information.
Report a problem
Send the steps, approximate time, expected result and what actually happened. Review screenshots and diagnostic files before sharing them. Do not send private footage, precise routes or sensitive personal details unless needed and you choose to provide them.
If iOS shows a temperature warning, stop recording and let the device cool. DashReplay cannot guarantee capture of every event. Start with short, parked tests before longer use.
